(© Joseph Marzullo/WENN) | Alan Cumming, Cheyenne Jackson, Jane Krakowski, and Cyndi Lauper are among the Broadway veterans who will be part of the 83rd annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, to be held on Thursday, November 26 beginning at 9am. The parade will be broadcast on NBC and hosted by Matt Lauer, Meredith Viera, and Al Roker.
The telecast's first hour will feature cast members of Bye Bye Birdie singing "Put on a Happy Face," Hair performing "Aquarius," Billy Elliot performing "Shine," and Shrek singing "I'm a Believer."
The parade will also include appearances by The Radio City Rockettes, cast members of The Big Apple Circus, Andrea Bocelli, Boys Like Girls, Billy Currington, DJ Lance Rock and the cast of Yo Gabba Gabba!, Jimmy Fallon and The Roots, Gloria Gaynor, Emily Hughes, Kermit the Frog, Tiffany Thornton, Ziggy Marley with Judah Marley, Katharine McPhee, Katie Stam, the cast of Sesame Street, Mitchel Musso, Keke Palmer, The Pizzarelli Quartet, Jay Sean, and Carly Simon.
Jackson will be featured on the New York Daily News Big Apple Float which will honor the New York Yankees and their World Series win. He will be performing a song , "Play to Win" which was specially written William Schermerhorn and Michael Feinstein. Krakowski will performing an original song written by Schermerhorn and Wesley Whatley. Cumming will sing "That's Life" on the M&M Float.
For the first time in its history, the parade will not march down Broadway. The route will begin at 77th Street and Central Park West, travel down to Columbus Circle where it will turn onto Central Park South. Once the Parade reaches 7th Avenue it will turn once more and march down 7th Avenue through Times Square to 42nd Street. It will then turn east to 6th Avenue and begin its final march down the Avenue of the Americas to 34th Street where it will turn towards Macy's and end at 7th Avenue marking a 2.65-mile march.
